We believe in experiences.

Terravana® Adventures grew out of our family’s love for travel and exploring the outdoors.  It was born from road trips, long hikes, starry nights, trail banter, and laughter.  Through these experiences, we bonded as a family and connected with our natural world whether venturing outside a lodge or outside our tents.

Wanting to share our passion for the outdoors with others, we launched a responsible adventure travel company whose primary purpose is to provide fun outdoor experiences and events for people seeking new adventures, community, and a connection to nature.  We wanted our business to inspire engagement with our natural world, promote well-being, and have a positive impact on the places we visit.   When arriving at a name, we landed on Terravana® to convey the sense of peace and happiness that can result from spending time in nature (earth + nirvana).

Terravana® Adventures offers guided hikes, backpacking trips, multi-activity adventures, training hikes and programs, team building activities, retreats, and other outdoor events.

Vicki Hamilton

Guide, Boss Lady.

Vicki is passionate about the outdoors and sharing it with others.  Her favorite weeks are those when she wears her hiking boots more than any other shoes.  She enjoys exploring the trails of southern California and beyond and participating in endurance hiking events.

Vicki is dedicated to connecting people with nature and improving their confidence and well-being through outdoor experiences. Having a long career in legal and corporate environments, Vicki understands how technology has changed our lives, resulting in extensive screen time, less movement and connection, and increased levels of stress and anxiety.  She also knows firsthand how spending time in nature can help counter these effects by calming our minds, rejuvenating our bodies, and restoring creativity.  Vicki launched Terravana® Adventures to help more people connect with our natural world, try new activities and build outdoor skills, and benefit from a more active and intentional lifestyle.

Vicki plans and curates many of our outdoor experiences and events. She enjoys the study of mindfulness and experiential learning and strives to incorporate these practices into our business and the experiences we offer.  Vicki also enjoys kayaking, landscape and nature photography, yoga, spending time with family and throwing tennis balls for her two border collies, Luna and Mo. Vicki is Wilderness First Responder certified.

Liam Carr

Guide and That Guy

Liam has enjoyed the outdoors since he was a small child and thought hiking was a nice ride in the backpack carrier.  He started teaching outdoor skills and leading treks while in scouting and is an Eagle Scout.  Today, Liam splits his time between Terravana® and working as an energy engineer while actively pursuing a career in music production.  He is half of the duo, BOGO.

Liam enjoys sharing his knowledge of the outdoors with others.  He particularly likes watching the excitement in people when they challenge themselves and master a new skill.  Liam’s favorite outdoor activities are hiking, backpacking, swimming, and making s’mores.  Liam is Wilderness First Responder certified.

Daniel Carr

Guide and Editor Extraordinaire

Thriving on his first camping trip at six months old, Daniel immediately developed a lifelong enthusiasm for the outdoors.  He held several leadership positions in scouting and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout.  As an avid hiker, Daniel aims to introduce as many people as possible to hiking, backpacking, and outdoor skills.

Daniel splits his time between Terravana®, pursuing his college degree in International Security, and working part-time.  He recently served as an editor for The Counterterrorism Group, a position that made him very stubborn towards the Oxford Comma. He enjoys studying languages and world affairs, hoping to soon obtain fluency in Spanish and Arabic.  When not working or studying, Daniel plays lead guitar for a local band, South End. He has developed an impressively hefty fan base of twenty people. Daniel is Wilderness First Responder certified.

Sara Rose Carr

Vibe Manager

Sara Rose is a Southern California-based writer and filmmaker with a zeal for documentaries and honest scripted storytelling. She’s driven to tales that explore human (dis)connection as well as narratives encompassing our relationships with the natural world, our detachment from it, and how we as humans can find a way back to it.

Sara’s passion for the outdoors began as a child hiking local trails and exploring our great National Parks.  A few years ago, her hiking expanded internationally on one of her favorite trails so far, the Tour-du-Mont Blanc, which she enjoyed with her mom and brothers.  Sara also enjoys kayaking, loving the solitude and the new vantage points it provides. To Sara, a clear smooth day on the water is a day well spent.

Jessica Noyes

Dream Alchemist

Jessica is a Southern California based artist, museum person, and social media guru. Her work is inspired by the minute details of an object or person, and using a palette of only black and white, she strives to shine a light on what is typically overlooked.

Whenever Jessica has the chance to set her paintbrush down, she heads outside to enjoy a few laps in the pool or play a game of tennis. While both sports are a great form of cardio, Jessica finds swimming to be very calming, restorative, and rhythmic. Swimming is her personal form of hot yoga.

As a creative, Jessica often finds herself in the kitchen giving into her other passion – food. From baking focaccia to cooking up a pot of homemade ramen, she is always seeking out new recipes with fun ingredients and unusual flavors.

Luna & Mo

Loveable Fur

Luna and Mo keep us on the move with belly rubs, chasing tennis balls, and sniffing out treats on a daily basis.
